Topic: Amp EQ settings

I have a 15 amp VOX Pathfinder, and I wanted to know any tips for sounds and styles. Its got your basic gain, treb, bass, vibrato, and also a tremelo speed, and trem depth setting.

feel free to give me some tips on finding my sound, cause I've been fiddling with it for close to a year now, and haven't really stumbled upon anything I like.

Re: Amp EQ settings

Well, I personally am not very qualified to answer this at the moment. Though in the coming weeks we hope to have a considerable amount of users and such questions will likely have better chance of being answered. On the other hand, neotek may be able to answer.

Re: Amp EQ settings

i know this was posted months ago, but in case you were still looking for a response, if you've been messing with it for over a year and you can't find a single sound you like, don't bother.  in fact, i'd be inclined to tell you that you've wasted a whole year, essentially.  for the most part, you really aren't going to get a good tone out of a tiny amp like that, particularly if it's solid state (which i'm assuming it is).  a good equalizer can really do wonders, but if your amp is crap, then you're just wasting your time.

my suggestion to you is to pick out a few bands you like and see what their guitarist plays through.  there are ways to emulate certain tones that won't cost you an arm and a leg, but since i don't know what sort of tone you're looking for, all i can do is recommend you talk to someone about it at your local guitar store.
